SmartSelf gives tutors ownership of their own advanced learning platform in the form of an app and an website that uses learning data to decide what each of their students needs, when they need it, and how much support they should receive.
The platform combines personalised lessons, revision, quizzes, practice tasks, AI support, and a personalised 3D tutor into one branded learning environment. SmartSelf collects clickstream data as students interact with lessons, quizzes, revision tasks, and support tools. This data is used to capture key learning metrics such as accuracy, speed, topic progress, support usage, memory strength, and concept mastery.
These metrics are then fed into cutting-edge learning algorithms such as FSRS, IRT, and DKT. SmartSelf collates the outputs from these models to define a student vector score, which represents each student’s current learning state. This vector score then interacts with SmartSelf’s specially weighted AI model to decide what each student should see next, when they should review, how difficult the next task should be, and how much support they need.
